We spend more than a third of our lives sleeping. How we sleep has an impact on our health as I’ve found to my benefit when I changed the position in which I sleep. By sleeping upright at an angle of 25 to 30 degrees one gains the best results. No more morning headaches or restless nights for me. Other people who I know, have tried this and gained similar benefits.
To prevent my heavy head from rolling to one side, I use an aircraft pillow, placing it around my neck to give it added support. No longer do I wake with a stiff neck because of sleeping with my head hanging to one side. See the attached photo:
Give this a try for a few weeks to a month or two before passing judgement.
As I’m a widower, I can only tell you one possible downside: in chilly weather, I need to take extra care tucking myself in to prevent the cold reaching my shoulders. I can imagine this may be a little more difficult for a couple when they both sleep slightly upright. You may need an extra wide duvet or blanket. I have all the bedding to myself…lucky me! Ha!Ha! 🙂
