Car problems:
I’m in the process of recovering financially from an incident involving my car!
Three weeks ago I was parking behind a shopping area when, while in full right lock, my right front suspension collapsed. The ball joint fractured, leaving the car immobile with the tyre and wheel forced up against the wheel arch. Many clever bystanders offered to help me push the car out of the way, until I showed them…..
This photograph depicts the balanced approach I took which led to my recovery, writing my books, following a healthy vegetarian diet, (pectarian) and studying music.
Today I held a Book Signing Event at the University’s Turner Sims Concert Hall’s Foyer. A friend of mine, Angie, came to support me. It was very good of her to give of her time.
I spoke to a couple of students who’d misunderstood the time it started. They didn’t use the opportunity to page through the books, instead, as soon as I told them when it started they left to do other things.
It was a waste of time……
I enjoyed an interesting Saturday afternoon promoting my books at October Book in Portswood. I will be promoting my books again at the Southampton University’s Turner Sims Concert Hall foyer on Monday, 6th November starting at 12 noon. I’ll be giving out bookmarks where there is a link to order my Books or eBooks from my website.

This video shows an interview of me at the Book Signing Event at October Books. My interview starts a little after 2…..
I was getting ready to go to bed. The time was 2:30 am. While I stood brushing my teeth, I saw out of the corner of my eye a shadowy figure pass the passageway outside the bathroom door. My heart took a leap. I froze. I looked around but saw nothing. Carefully I walked into the lounge with toothbrush in hand. There I saw him. It was Chester, the dark figure set against the lighter grey carpet. It seemed he too…..

14. Who was the innocent and who the vulnerable
We had been chatting on the Chinese equivalent of Facebook’s Messenger, WeChat. I left a message. She didn’t answer. I sent her a text, also an email, no answer was forthcoming. I couldn’t believe my eyes! I worried. Finally, I became aware that Carol had in fact unfriended me!
I called Emma, her ‘sister,’.
“Don’t worry, Bruce, Carol is fine!”
Innocently, as if to cut me deeper, Emma sent…..
13. Return the books before I’m finished
Again she invited me out to a restaurant, as a thank-you for helping correct grammar in one of her assignments. I had never eaten sushi. I wanted to try some. I’d seen it on the Internet. The avocado worm on my plate looked appealing. Carol had been watching me enjoy my meal. I put the whole line of avocado into my mouth. Before I had the chance to close my mouth,…..
12. The seed was planted, the plans took root
Carol could irritate me at times for example when she did not answer questions I posed in messages to her. When I saw her, there would be other things on my mind and I’d forget to re-ask my questions. Was she purposely keeping me at bay? This thought did occur to me later!
Near the end of her stay in the UK, Carol came across some friends, Wendy, and…..
11. He had come to support
With the SatNav fully charged, I chose the shortest route back to Eastleigh. This route was 11 miles shorter than the one we used to go to the Monastery. As I turned onto the road there was a bold notice beside the road, “Drive with Care, High Risk of Accidents!”
I drove with utmost care, choosing to slow down rather than to drive at the designated speed suggested. Some corners were marked…..
